POS systems in Malaysia, compared on price

POS systems in Malaysia charge in four different ways. StoreHub sells monthly plans from RM122 on contracts of 12 months or more, Qashier charges RM5 or RM8 a day, Eats365 starts at RM99 a month, while Loyverse is free with paid add-ons and HitPay has no monthly fee but takes a cut of each payment. HASiL's MyInvois e-POS is free for small and medium businesses.

How we checked

We read each vendor's own pricing page for Malaysia on 19 October 2026 and used only sources from the last 12 months. Where a price is not on the page, we say so. Card and e-wallet rates, hardware and SST often sit on separate pages, so ask each vendor for one written quote that covers all of them.

DaulatLabs, which publishes this guide, makes Santaka, an ordering and POS system in early access. It is kept out of the comparison table and described on its own at the end.

Prices as each vendor published them on 19 October 2026. A monthly figure on a long term is not the same as a monthly figure you can cancel, so compare the total over the contract.

Four ways POS systems charge

  • Monthly plan on a term (StoreHub, FeedMe, Eats365). Predictable, with support included. Check the term length and what happens when it ends.
  • Daily rate (Qashier). Easy to compare with daily sales. RM5 a day is about RM150 in a 30-day month.
  • Free core with paid add-ons (Loyverse, MyInvois e-POS). Low cost to start. Check which add-ons you will need, and that support suits you.
  • Per payment (HitPay). Nothing to pay on a quiet day; costs grow with sales. Work out the rate at your monthly takings.

Do you need e-invoicing at the till?

From 1 September 2026, businesses with annual sales below RM3 million do not have to issue e-invoices, up from a RM1 million threshold, which leaves more than 1.1 million businesses exempt (Bernama, 30 August 2026). Above that line, check that the POS can issue MyInvois e-invoices, or use HASiL's free MyInvois e-POS. StoreHub lists e-invoicing as built in.

How to choose a POS

  1. Total the cost over a year. Add the plan, extra registers, hardware, SST and the payment rates at your usual takings.
  2. Check how customers pay you. DuitNow QR, cards and e-wallets each have their own rate, and some systems need their own terminal.
  3. Try it at your busiest hour. Ask what happens when the internet drops in the middle of a lunch rush.
  4. Match it to your service. Counter service, table QR ordering, a kitchen display and delivery platforms are often in different plans.
  5. Read the contract. Check the term, the notice period and whether hardware is yours when you leave.
  6. Keep your data. Ask whether you can export sales, menu and customer records.

Questions

How much does a POS system cost in Malaysia?

In October 2026, published software prices run from free (Loyverse's core, HASiL's MyInvois e-POS) to about RM5 to RM8 a day (Qashier), RM99 a month and up (Eats365) and RM122 to RM471 a month on a term (StoreHub). Hardware, extra registers, SST and card rates are usually extra.

Is there a free POS system in Malaysia?

Yes. Loyverse's core POS is free, with paid add-ons from US$5 per store a month. HASiL's MyInvois e-POS is free for micro, small and medium businesses. HitPay has no monthly fee but charges 0.2% plus payment rates on each sale.

Does my POS need to issue e-invoices?

Only if your annual sales are RM3 million or more. From 1 September 2026 businesses below RM3 million do not have to issue e-invoices.

Which POS suits a small café or bazaar stall?

A small stall usually does best with low fixed costs: a free core POS, a daily rate, or a per-payment plan. A café with table service may want QR ordering and a kitchen display, which sit in mid-tier plans. Total the cost over a year before you choose.

Is Santaka available now?

Santaka by DaulatLabs is in early access and not on general sale; paid plans open at launch. Its prices are published: a free Demo, then Starter, Standard, Pro and Business at RM49, RM99, RM149 and RM249 a month.
